After Sakura(cherry blossoms), there comes the season of Shiba Sakura(moss phlox).
　　　Shiba Sakura is a perennial creeper plant, belonging to a phlox family. It grows thickly to a height of 10 cms. They have long and hard leaves throughout the year with vivid pink, red or white flowers from mid April to mid June. The flowers look like Sakura cherry blossoms. That is why they have come to be called “Shiba Sakura” in Japanese.
　　　Shiba Sakura are expected to start blooming later than usual this year but will surely please the eyes of viewers as usual. If you have not viewed them yet, visit the parks below. You will be marvelled at the beautiful sights there!

1. Prize

5. Announcement of Winners
The winners will be announced directly via e-mail within 7 days after the respective entry deadlines.

6. Important Notes
1) The winners receive free hotel accommodation for 2 nights on the condition that they participate in the free tour offered. Those who do not participate in the tour do not have the right to receive free accommodation either. Those who do not need free accommodation are deemed a weaver of the right and receive only the free tour and do not receive money, goods nor services of the equivalent value.
2) The prize does not include air tickets to and from Japan. The arrangement should be made by the winners at their expense.
3) One person can make an entry once only. Those who make the entry more than twice are excluded from the drawings.
4) The prize cannot be cashed nor can its right be transferred to the third party.
5) The prize will be invalid unless we receive an acceptance e-mail from the winners within 1 week of the announcement. Check beforehand that the e-mail address you provide us is valid, otherwise we cannot reach you.
6) The winners might be offered another tour in case the tour of your choice has been fully booked or cancelled.
7) We cannot answer any inquiries with regard to the drawing results.

　　Sakura brings spring to Japan. The blossoming starts in the southernmost island Okinawa at the end of January and moves northward until it reaches Hokkaido in May. The progress of the Sakura front, or Sakura Zensen in Japanese, is mentioned on TV and in the newspapers everyday during the season, telling us the advent of spring in each place.



　　Sakura is a special flower for the Japanese. Sakura gets in full bloom all of a sudden after a period that the buds gradually swell out. The gorgeous appearance soon disappears at the falling of the petals after each puff of wind. Such extreme beauty and quick death is associated not only with the joy and splendour of life, but also the ephemeral nature of life and of all things. The concept is called “Mono no Aware” in Japanese which is based on the Buddhist awareness of impermanence, the essential element of Japanese sensibility and the heart of Japanese cultural tradition. Also, the seasonal change from winter to spring indicated by Sakura symbolises partings and meetings. This makes us feel even more emotional about Sakura.








　　There are a lot of famous Sakura viewing spots in Japan. Their beauty is often exposed through media, inspiring us to make a visit to appreciate it. They are elegant and gorgeous indeed. In the mean time, however, there are thousands of nameless Sakura in our neighbourhood all over the country. They are equally beautiful. If you are in Japan during the season, look at the hotel ground or street corners on the way to somewhere. You will surely find out such nameless Sakura blooming just as beautifully as famous Sakura.

A Tip for Viewing Sakura
There is a tip for viewing Sakura, which is unknown to most Japanese. Sakura, especially the most widely-grown Someiyoshino variety, are more beautiful when looking up from below, rather than looking from the sides. This is because Sakura blossoms bloom downward.

Strawberry Picking Season has just come to Japan!

Japanese strawberries are not only tasty but also nutritious as containing a lot of vitamin C and thus are one of the most popular fruits among children and adults alike. They are highly admired overseas as well and are exported to Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore and many other countries. Japanese strawberries get ripe from December to May. They are mainly produced in Tochigi ,Fukuoka and Shizuoka but are also produced in various parts of Japan. During the season, a lot of strawberry picking tours are running. At this occasion, we are delighted to hold a Group Participation Gift Campaign with the concept of “With Friends, Have Fun in Japan.” In this campaign, any group that meet the following requirements is eligible to get wonderful gifts See the details below.

●Departure Date: 8 Dec. 2011 － 31 August, 2012
●Tour Type: YOKOSO Special Tour
●Group Size: 6 persons or more (Those aged 3 and over who actually departed with the tour)
●Prize: A QUO Card with a stored value of 500JPY is given to each of all the participants except for those aged 5 and under. The QUO Card can be used at many shops throughout Japan including convenience stores.
●Awarding Time: The prize is handed to each of all the participants in each eligible group on the day of the tour.

For the convenience and comfort of group participants joining YOKOSO Special Tours, we now provide a FREE PICK-UP & DROP-OFF SERVICE at your hotel. A tour conductor also attends you throughout.

●Conditions: A group must be either 1) or 2) below.
1) A group of 10 staying at a hotel in Shinjuku except for Shinjuku Washington Hotel
Those staying at Shinjuku Washington Hotel are required to come to the original meeting place: 3rd floor of Shinjuku Washington Hotel.
2) A group of 20 staying at a hotel in Tokyo’s 23 wards 　
Note:
* FREE PICK-UP & DROP-OFF SERVICEs are available only at the hotel of your staying. Other places of your convenience are not accepted. The services may not be provided in case there are considerable difficult roads, traffic or other conditions.
* Pick-up time should be 30 – 90 minutes earlier than the designated meeting time depending on the location of your hotel. Exact meeting time and other details will be announced after the completion of your reservation.
