Comment on our tour
2010年08月02日
We would like to introduce a letter from one of our guest, who participated in last CLUB TOURISM YOKOSO Japan Tour on June 28 Dep, tells us her impression.
She is the editor of Japan-sightseeing-information magazine which is titled "JAL × Pia "日本達人" distributed in inside of JAL on route from Hong Kong, Taiwan, and South Korea to Japan.
↓↓↓↓↓
I had participated in the bus tour for my first time.
I would like to report about the Club-Tourism “day's trip bus tour below.
First of all, I doubt whether it can finish turning like this from peach picking, cherry picking, wine, a herb, and really many contents in only one day. At this time, our staffs from the"JAL × Pia "日本達人" editorial department are profoundly interesting about the tour with Japanese and foreign tourists together in the same bus. How the foreign tourists enjoy the tour for Japanese, to obtain their satisfactory? Although we are not any sponsor of this, feel like we are!
When the bus tour began, we realized that the tour leader speaks foreign languages and had no problem at all.
The foreign tourists tried to more enjoy about sightseeing in Japan. It is agreeable that one of the foreign tourist asked to the tour leader about the things which was not written on his tour-pamphlet! Another couple says in loud voice that “Mt.Fuji!” for their great impression.

For them, as peach picking and cherry picking were very fresh, they were joyfully stuffed into their mouth. Since it is difficult to carry out leisure experience of only in the one day by one’ self, Japanese people also think that the bus tours are really convenient. We had surprised that only one-day-tour gave us such a satisfactory. Even when it is private, the foreign country is often visited, but while the land which language does not lead, either and does not understand the thing of traffic, either is exciting, but its loss of time increases too. If there is such tours that show not only the center of Tokyo but also the suburbs, choice of the tour would be increased.

It is very attractive for the foreigners who do not have their own car. The choice of increase will be the tour to the fireworks display or a hot spring also has and cannot move by the privately-owned car. To save the time and the money of your trip, we highly recommend you to participate the bus tour!!!

Moss phlox Mt. Fuji
2010年05月27日
On 11 May, I've participated in one day tour for Fuji Shiba-sakura(moss phlox) Festival and appreciation of an azalea at Yamano Hotel in Hakone.

First of all, we visited the Chateau Katsunuma Winery to see the brewing process of wine.

Then we enjoyed the long-waited-for tasting of wine directly from several different barrels, which was the most important event of the day for everyone. Of course you could get your favorite at the gift shop. (Photo 1)
"Herb Garden-Tabi-nikki", a vast park covers an area of 10,000 Tsubos (more than 8 acres) where about 200 kinds of herbs are in full bloom on the premises. Various beautiful flowers of the season in bloom pleased my eyes and nose . (Photo 2/3)

Fuji Shiba-sakura Festival celebrated the 3rd anniversary in this spring and renowned as one of
poetic charms of Mt.Fuji's vicinity. Amazing! Planted area is about 2.4ha and stocks are 700,000 ! Moss phlox of red, white and pink covers the ground and spread like a carpet. (Photo 4/5)

There were 4 participants from Taiwan and 2 participants from Hong Kong on this tour with us. They have had an experience to see cherry blossoms of Japan before, but not moss phlox, that seems to be the reason to join this tour. Due to an unexpected rain, we could not see Mt.Fuji, but I'm delighted to know that they were impressed and excited with beautiful moss phlox. (Following is the participants from Taiwan) (Photo 6)

"Yamano Hotel" is a real resort hotel, opened in 1948 and located by the lake Ashi in Hakone. Colorful flowers of an azalea of red and pink were beautifully blooming in an open garden. When walking on a promenade, we were really captivated with the elegant atmosphere of tradition and beautiful scenery. (Photo 7/8)

Moss pholox at Hitsujiyama
2010年05月12日
I have visited Saitama Prefecture to see the Moss pholox at Hitsujiyama park!

Bukozan mountain is behind the park.

Big hornet dipped in honey, surprising food, incredible suevenir.
The couple (right and left side) from Hong Kong enjoyed the
YOKOSO Japan tour with me(middle).

Chichibu Television Company took film of Moss pholox..

At Ashikaga flower park the flower of wisteria is not bloomed yet,
however the flower of rhododendron is bloomed in the rain.
It was so beautiful!

After the YOKOSO JAPAN tour, we enjoyed a good taste,
and inexpensive Sushi at stand Sushi shop near the
Shinjuku Station.

The name of the sushi shop is
"Uogashi nihon ichi"(meaning Japan No1 fish market),
very popular for Japanese and for foreign tourists.
One piece of Sushi costs 75 Japanese yen, fresh and
delicious sushi they serve.
You can order easily , with their English menu.

Boso peninsula!
2010年04月30日
I took an one day tour to "Boso in early spring"
As I took an one day tour, No.38260 to the Boso Peninsula, on February 22,
I'd like to report on this tour even though it has been a little late.
1. We left Shinjuku at 08:00 in the morning. We drived through a floating expressway in the sea
with a bus and headed for the southern part of the Boso Peneinsula (Chiba Prefecture)

2. In the southern part of the Boso Peneinsula, flowers were blooming even at the time of the midwinter,
as it is as warm as spring. We could see rape flowers here and there this time.

3.Our bus stopped just in front of a flower garden, so we could enjoy viewing beautiful flowers with
various colors. They were so beautiful that I spent much time involuntaly to take a lot of pictures.

4.Marine products shop, located on the other side of the road (flower garden's side)
A floating ship in front of the shop, I wonder how will it be launched....
(Please see an attached photo)

5.The smell from rough waves and the rocky beach of the Pacific Ocean stimurated my appetite,
therefore I purchased a lot of marine products inadvertently.

6.All-you-can-eat of strawberry in a greenhouse ! I ate a lot of picked fresh strawberries, dipping them
in a sweet condensed milk on the house. Oh, I ate my fill !

7.We visited an old temple up on a hill !

8.Along a road connected with an old private house, there were many plum blossoms blooming fully

9.On the way back, we took a break at "Umihotaru", (a service area) an artificial island floating in Tokyo Bay.
Enjoyed viewing a beautiful sunset staining western sky red.

10.Driving through a road on the sea with a bus, which seemed to go on endlessly when I looked it from Umihotaru,
we arrived Shinjuku at 19:30. Favored with a fine weather as well, it was un unforgettable tour.

Business trip to Yamanashi!
2010年04月15日
I took a business trip to Yamanashi on Thursday, 8 April.
I've been to Yamanashi where is famous for Mt.Fuji.
I'd like to submit my report on my trip together with some pictures.
1. This is extremely expensive crystal gem displayed at "Kai-Terrace
"(Yamanashi Local Industry Center). Watch its price showed below!!
Surprising 3 hundred million Japanese Yen!! My heart pounded so
fast that I feared to touch it..

2. The Koshu wine, a product of Yamanashi, receives high acclaim in
Europe. It has been said that a wine brewed from the imported grape
has its own peculiar character, that it is not suitable for the delicate dish,
such as Japanese food.
However, concerned parties from Yamanashi prefecture mentioned that
they would like to encourage and appeal Koshu wine and its character
to the international market in order to strengthen their sales, now that
they found the Koshu wine is fresh and dry, and that it doesn't disturb
the delicate taste. Hope they would work successfully.
Below picture is the assorted sushi with the Koshu wine. Once I tried
them, I absolutely agreed that the Koshu wine is 100% suitable for
the any dish.

3. Even as a native Japanese, I was surprised to learn that Yamanashi,
noted for Mt.Fuji, tops in the production of the jewelry in Japan.
The famous jewelry shops in Tokyo seem to carry those jewelries and
they seem to receive high acclaim as "Koo Fu" brand in the jewel industry
in foreign countries as well. The cutting and working skill is supported by
Japanese women.
The accuracy of the work of jewel cutting has been improved by their
perservance and a sharp eye kept all the time which men usually lack..

4. Jewel cutting and working skill that Yamanashi (the prefecture
where Mt. Fuji sits) boasts to the world, above all,
it is said that the jewel polishing skill and its equipment at Ishitomo
corporation are advanced worldwide. My former image that Yamanashi
equals the home of rock crystal was overturned.
When I visited there, I proposed that calling their jewelry "Mt. Fuji
jewelry" might be comprehensible to the people from foreign countries.

5. In Yamanashi where Mt.Fuji sits, we could admire blossoms of cherry,
peach and Japanese plum at the same time in early April. Light pink
colored peach blossoms are blooming all over in the peach orchard,
extending widely around this area. (This picture is not so good, because
I took it from an express train by a camera built- in my cellular phone).
Yamanashi, Shangri-la in spring becomes a fruit kingdom in summer,
filled with peaches,grapes and cherries.
Jewelry, wine and Shangri-la in the home of Mt.Fuji, a symbol of Japan !
Please keep them in your mind by all means and stop by along with
Mt. Fuji, when you'll visit Yamanashi.

One day trip(39345)
2010年04月09日
This time I participated in one day tour, No. 39345 in Mishima and Minobu, cruising around Suruga Bay and experiencing all-you-can-eat strawberry picking. Departing from Shinjuku, taking a break in between at Ebina service area on the Tomei expressway, we headed for the port where the cruise starts.

Favored with a fine weather, we had a chance to see cherry blossoms in full bloom along the expressway and in small villages while we were passing. We had 5 guests from overseas, one family from Hong Kong and a couple from Australia. The tour conductor accompanied this group gave an information and showed us around in English and Chinese as well as in Japanese. She should win some respect. As there were Japanese guests who spoke English, foreign guests seemed to be enjoying the tour communicating with other Japanese guests with their help on the way.

Excitingly, during the cruise we saw seabirds flying closely to feed themselves almost perching on our hands, and Mt.Fuji, dressed in a mantle of white snow was peeping out through the clouds.
After the cruise, our bus took a round tour of Mt.Fuji and I was able to see the truly beautiful mountain for hours from various angles that I, even as a native Japanese, have never seen so far. I was touched by the richness of “expression” that Mt.Fuji had.

Followed by sugary and delicious all-you-can-eat strawberry picking, a full-bloomed cherry blossom viewing at Mishima-Taisha shrine, and weeping cherry trees at Minobu, we completed the day and returned to Shinjyuku. For 5 guests from overseas, it was of their benefit to have experienced cultural exchange with the Japanese guests.
